Below is a guide to the different sorts of roles we have for you in Mouchel. On your application form you will be asked what discipline is relevant to you, this helps us determine what job you may be suitable for.

Civil and Structural Engineering
We will be recruiting over 100 Civil and Structural Engineers in 2008. There are an exciting range of projects that you could be involved in, in either our Rail, Utilities or Highways businesses. Your role can vary from specialist technical engineering to more strategic consultancy and project management.
Electrical Engineering
We have approximately 12 positions for Electrical Engineers. These roles will predominantly be within our Highways business, where an example project would be working as part of the consultancy team managing the introduction of new congestion-easing solutions on the UK's motorways.
Management Consultancy and Business
We have approximately 10 opportunities within Management Consultancy and Business management roles. This work covers a number of areas including, health, education, children's services, regeneration, ICT, local government, heritage, transport, the private sector and related areas.
Transport Planning
There are over 12 positions available in Transport Planning, where we are looking for people with either a Transport Planning Degree, Engineering, Maths, Geography or Economics related qualification. Transport planning falls under our Highways business and is pivotal to the consultancy we provide on the nation's roads.
Geo-technical Engineering
We have 4 positions available for Geo-technical candidates. Here you will be working within the Utilities business, and join an expert team, working on large scale projects in the UK, and possibly overseas, this could be in water, waste, land or energy divisions of Mouchel.
Quantity Surveying
Quantity Surveyors are crucial to Mouchel, and we expect to recruit approximately 20 across our Highways business. Your work is likely be focused on delivering long-term (typically 4-7 years) highway management, maintenance and improvement services. Alternatively you could be working with our Government Services business.
Mechanical Engineering
We have approximately 3-5 opportunities available for Mechanical Engineers. These will likely be based in the Water and Energy divisions of the company. Example work includes, the design and construction of a cross country pipeline linking a liquid natural gas (LNG) terminal to the national gas transition system (NTS) or being involved in projects such as the Teeside Gasport (the world's first dockside LNG regasification port).
Environmental Engineering
In 2008 we have 7 positions for people with Masters degrees related to Environmental Management and Engineering. These roles will be working in our Land and Environment business, and your work could be either providing environmental planning and consultancy for businesses or designing and managing solutions to regenerate brown-field sites, across the UK.
Other
We also have approximately 90 more vacancies for technicians and specialist engineers across Mouchel. For example Systems Engineering, Pavement Engineering and Traffic-related engineering roles.
